Overdue Adoption Update

It has been a long while since I have done a post.  I guess I have quite a bit of updating to do....

On June 25, we received, and accepted, another referral for a second child.  We now have two little boys approximately 7-8 months apart in age!  (Just as a reminder, though I would LOVE to post for you their pictures, ages and names, I am not able to do that at this time.  Doing so, could possibly jeopardize our adoption process and we cannot take that risk.  But, oh, how I wish you could see their precious little faces.)

Soon after acceptance of our referrals, the boys were moved into the same foster home where they are receiving better food and weekly visits by a social worker and medical doctor.  Here they will begin to learn what a family "looks" like and how it functions.  We are praying that, even now, they will begin to bond with one another as friends, playmates and brothers.

On my birthday we received a new picture of our youngest boy (probably since he was our first referral).  What a great, unexpected gift!  We are hoping to get an updated picture of our other son (and possibly even the two of them together) within the next few weeks.

So, where are we in the process now?  Our paperwork is in the other country's court system where it is being translated.  After that, two court dates are required before the adoption is considered finalized THERE.  After finalization, all the paperwork will move back into the U.S. system for completion before the boys can come home.  We are still being told that the completion of the process will take 7-11 months after acceptance of referrals, so we're probably looking at earlier part of 2012.  This would have bothered me when we started this whole process, but I am now confident in the perfect purpose of God's timing...even when it doesn't make sense to me.

  2. Thanks for the update, I've been looking at your blog to see if you have updated it and I didn't see the notice. I'll be praying for a speedy process but HIS timing is ALWAYS perfect! We may not understand it but HE is good and HE loves you and the boys.
